Founder's Message

Hi, I'm Jude, the Founder and CEO of CodeChum. About 6 years ago, I met the true love of my life: Programming.

I won't go into the details, but I'd say it was love at first program. Programming made me feel like I'm a kid again. It still does - freely pressing the keys and unleashing the creativity in me in solving problems, making things efficient, and developing solutions that make the world a better place.

Programming, ever since, became my passion.

But while I do love programming, I realize that I love it even more when I found out that other people would know how to program as well and that is why I started CodeChum.

CodeChum started off as a thesis which I then turn into a reality shortly after I graduated college. We initially started with just one university, the Cebu Institute of Technology University, with a few number of students and teachers and then grew up to over 1,000 teachers and 14,000 students.

Our direction with CodeChum in delivering our mission is to seek help from the people who are already doing the important, life-changing things: the teachers. We realized that it would be so hard to do this on our own but with the help of the teachers, the “frontliners” of programming education, we believe we can do it!

OUR GOAL

Our Mission

We believe that programming is the future. It is what's behind every single piece of technology we have today: the operating systems running our mobile devices and PCs, the websites we visit, artificial intelligence, and so many more.

Unfortunately, not so many Filipinos appreciate the value and power of programming. Furthermore, those who have tried programming don't seem to enjoy it and some are even intimidated with just the thought of it. That is the purpose why we exist.

We want to make programming education interesting, fun, and simple.

We dream of the day when everyone in the Philippines would learn how to program.
